A man was taken to the hospital in stable condition after being shot in the leg in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill South neighborhood early Friday morning, police said.

Police said said they responded to a call for a man who had been shot at the 5700 block of Forward Avenue just before 3:50 a.m.

Officers said they found the victim in the vestibule of a building with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers applied a tourniquet until medics arrived to transport him to the hospital.

There is no suspect description at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
