Police: Man shot in the face in Pittsburgh's South Side

A man was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the face in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood Monday night.

Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews said officers responded to a Shotspotter alert for a shooting around 9:30 p.m. along the 1500 block of Bingham Street.

Responding officers were later notified of a gunshot victim along the 1400 block of East Carson Street.

Matthews said the man ran to East Carson Street for help from nearby motorists after being shot along Bingham Street.

No other injuries were reported and no information about possible suspects was available Monday night.
