Police responded to a fatal shooting Tuesday morning at a home along Malden Street in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

A Pittsburgh man was found shot to death Tuesday morning in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, according to authorities.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert just after 5 a.m. near a home in the 1300 block of Malden Street.

Cara Cruz, public safety spokeswoman, said units located evidence that a possible crime had occurred and forced entry inside a home where they found a man who had been shot.

The man, identified as Ernest Adams, 39, by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Violent Crime and Mobile Crime units set up a heavy presence in the neighborhood and were walking along the street and talking to neighbors.

The investigation is ongoing.
