Pittsburgh police are trying to find a gray Ford Mustang with racing stripes, similar to this one, believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run incident along East End Avenue on Wednesday.

A pregnant pedestrian was struck by a car along East End Avenue in Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said the woman was walking on the sidewalk around 4:20 p.m. and was waiting to cross the street at a crosswalk at Tuscarora Street when a Ford Mustang appeared.

The woman told detectives the vehicle seemed to be slowing down at a stop sign, allowing her to cross, but instead hit her as she crossed.

Cruz said the impact was strong enough to push the pedestrian onto the hood of the car. She then fell off and struck her head on the pavement.

The victim told police a man got out of the car and yelled at her. He then allegedly took off down East End Avenue toward Brashear Street at a high rate of speed after the victim said she was going to call police.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a gray Ford Mustang with black racing stripes. The driver was described as a man between 20 and 30 years old. He had a passenger, a woman with long hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pittsburgh police at 412-422-6520.
