A man crashed a pickup into a Hill District gas station Friday morning trying to steal an ATM machine, Pittsburgh police said.

Police and medics responded to the report of a vehicle into a building in the 2300 block of Centre Avenue shortly after 7 a.m.

Officers found a large hole where the vehicle entered the gas station.

According to police, witnesses said a man drove a pickup through a front window in an attempt to steal the ATM machine. Unable to take it, he fled in the truck.

Officers found the truck and its driver on Fifth Avenue un Uptown, where he was arrested without incident.

The man was not identified.

No one at the gas station was hurt, police said.
