SWAT team recovers 1-year-old girl said to have been abducted, 3 arrested
A 1-year-old girl abducted Thursday afternoon in East Pittsburgh was recovered safely by a SWAT team hours later, according to police.
State police announced they had found Diore Thomas after an Amber Alert was issued for her Thursday afternoon.
Diore was last at 12:30 p.m. in East Pittsburgh.
Police had been looking for Giante Thomas, 20, in connection with her disappearance.
According to tweet from Pittsburgh Public Safety, three people were arrested, but the tweet did not say whether Thomas was among those suspects.
A Pittsburgh Police SWAT team and U.S. Marshals assisted state police in connection with the incident in the 3700 block of Wind Gap Avenue.
They safely recovered the child.
State police will handle the investigation, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety’s tweet.
