Cincinnati man suspected of dumping body in Scott Township in custody, police say
Allegheny County Police have tracked down a Cincinnati man who they say abused a corpse in May 2022 by dumping the body in Scott.
County police are still searching for a second suspect they say also was involved.
Police said Tuesday that Abdullah Faheem, 52, is in custody. He is being held in Ohio’s Lorain Correctional Institution on a parole violation, authorities said. He had been housed there under an alias.
Police say they are still searching for Bradley Smith, 33, an Arnold resident with ties to Carnegie. He is described as being a Black man who is about 6 feet, 1 inches tall and 175 lbs.
Smith and Faheem are suspected of leaving the body of Bridgeville landscaper Lavarr Carroll, 43, in the area of Booth Way and Boden Avenue on May 8, 2022. District Judge Craig C. Stephens issued arrest warrants for the pair on charges of abuse of a corpse and conspiracy, online court records show.
Police said there was no obvious signs of trauma. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Aug. 6 that Carroll died of alcohol and drug intoxication and had marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl and para-fluorofentanyl in his system. The manner of death remains undetermined.
Anyone with information concerning Smith’s whereabouts is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
