Pittsburgh police are searching for a man who they said shot another man during an argument in Downtown early Thursday.

Officers from the Zone 2 station in the city’s Hill District, along with emergency medical technicians, responded to the 1000 block of Penn Avenue around 3:30 a.m. after receiving a report that a man had been shot.

First responders found a man with a gunshot wound to the head and took him to the hospital in critical condition, according to a Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived.

Witnesses told investigators they heard two men arguing before the shooting happened.
