Port Authority to begin lifting capacity limits on Monday

The Port Authority of Allegheny County will begin lifting capacity limits Monday before returning to full capacity in mid-June.

Beginning Monday, the Port Authority will increase capacity limits on 35-foot buses from 10 riders to 15. Capacity on 40-foot buses will rise from 15 riders to 25.

On 60-foot, articulated buses and light rail cars, capacity will rise from 25 riders to 35.

Beginning Sunday, June 20, capacity limits on all Port Authority vehicles — including the Monongahela Incline — will lift entirely.

The Monongahela Incline currently is limited to 12 passengers per trip.

Face coverings still will be required for Port Authority drivers and passengers, following guidance from the CDC.
