People at Ellwood City Forge following a deadly shooting Thursday night.

A man is dead and a suspect in custody after a shooting Thursday night in Ellwood City.

The incident took place at Ellwood City Forge, though Timothy Woods, 31, who lives in the borough, was arrested on Belton Road in North Sewickley, according to police.

He’s facing a homicide charge as well as a felony firearms count and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.

According to a criminal complaint, state police were requested shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday and, upon arrival, found a deceased male with gunshot wounds.

Police identified the victim as employee Timothy Bollman.

Woods fled to a residence in North Sewickley, where police said he left once authorities surrounded it.

Law enforcement later recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol from the North Sewickley home consistent with spent cartridges found at the scene of the crime, the complaint stated.

Commercial Avenue, which leads to the forge, was closed as police examined the scene and spoke with witnesses.

In a statement, company President Valli Senthilnathan said “we are shocked and saddened by this event,” and the facility will remain closed through the weekend.

“The safety and well being of our team members is our primary concern, and we will work with them to provide the support and resources needed as we process this tragedy,” he said.

State police are handling the investigation.
