One person has died in a mobile home fire Saturday morning in Butler County, a county 911 supervisor has confirmed.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 5:30 a.m. to the blaze in the a mobile home along Rustic Ridge Road in Summit Township, according to Bryan Powell, chief of the Lick Hill Community Fire Department.

Powell said he could not comment about the victim of the fire Saturday morning, as the person’s family had not been notified. A pet cat also died, he said, noting there were no other occupants in the single-wide home.

The fire was contained to the living room, Powell said.

“It was virtually snuffed out by the time the first unit got on the scene,” he said.

The blaze is being investigated by a state police fire marshal.

Most firefighting units cleared the scene by 7:45 a.m., with one fire engine remaining there as authorities began their investigation, Powell said.
