State police identify woman killed, man hurt in Butler County 3-wheeled motorcycle crash
State police have released the name of a woman who died and a man who was seriously hurt in a crash involving a three-wheeled motorcycle in Butler County Saturday afternoon.
According to state police, Betty E. Campbell, 66, of Butler died at the scene on Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township.
She was a passenger on a Can Am Spyder driven by Douglas B. Campbell Jr., 69, of Butler. He suffered a suspected serious injury and was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, state police said.
State police did not detail the relationship between them.
State police said they were traveling south on Route 38, Oneida Valley Road, around 1 p.m. when, as they approached Annisville Road, the motorcycle began veering off the road. It crossed the center of the road and hit a guide rail on the northbound side and went down and embankment into a creek, stopping in the creek bed on the northbound side of Route 38.
The road was closed between Annisville and Old Brick roads while the crash was being investigated.
