A 17-year-old driver was killed in a crash Sunday in Mercer County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, died from injuries sustained in a crash just before 8 p.m. in Green Township.

State police said the driver traveled into the oncoming lane while navigating a curve on Jamestown Road. He then overcorrected and drove the Jeep Cherokee off the right side of the roadway, hitting several trees before the car came to a stop.

The Jeep sustained major damage to the front and driver side, police said, and multiple airbags were deployed.
