Uniontown police are investigating after they said two men are dead in a shooting just before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Elias Sails Inn bar on North Gallatin Avenue.

Two men were shot to death at a Uniontown tavern early Wednesday, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at the Elias Sails Inn in the 200 block of North Gallatin Avenue, according to a 911 dispatcher.

Police identified the victims as Darrell Gregg, 32, and Tommy Stargell Jr., 28.

State police are assisting Uniontown police with the investigation, officials said. The Fayette County coroner also was dispatched to the scene of the shooting.

Police told Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV that there was an altercation involving two guns inside the bar and that they were searching for at least one suspect.

Additional details about the shooting have not yet been released.
