United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania has honored Indiana County-based S&T Bank and Achieva, a Southwestern Pennsylvania organization, with its United in Service Volunteer award.

The award is given to an individual or group who shows “excellence in volunteerism within its local community,” according to a news release.

“S&T Bank is committed to making a difference throughout our communities in partnership with organizations like the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania,” said Todd D. Brice, chief executive officer of S&T Bank. “We are honored to have been recognized with this award and I’d like thank our outstanding employees for their continued commitment to volunteerism.”

Over the past two years, officials from S&T Bank have worked with Achieva — which has locations in Westmoreland, Allegheny and Beaver counties and provides support for people with disabilities and their families. S&T Bank and Achieva worked together to refurbish a local Boy Scout camp and church camp during the annual Day of Caring, a day presented by United Way to encourage volunteering in the local community.

S&T Bank also added five new team members to the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Women Leadership Council last year: Pam Price, Mary Anne Dornetto, Trudie Kozar, Robin Gray and Susie Nicholson. The council is aimed mobilizing the “power of women helping women,” the website reads.

Officials were honored Tuesday morning at the Fred Rogers Conference Center at Saint Vincent.
