A residential structure fire early Sunday morning in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood left 13 people displaced from two homes.

Pittsburgh Fire was dispatched just after 5 a.m. Sunday to the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue. What started as a 1-alarm fire “quickly grew to three alarms,” according to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials.

No civilians or firefighters were reported as injured, Pittsburgh Public Safety said. The main firehouse had been unoccupied and condemned in March.

Paramedics evaluated two people at the scene, but both refused transport to the hospital, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The American Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania will assist the 13 people who were displaced with services and temporary housing.

City building inspectors are evaluating the affected structures, the Fire Investigation Unit detectives will determine the exact cause of the fire, Pittsburgh Public Safety said.
