7-year-old dies after being hit by SUV in Greene County

A 7-year-old boy died after being hit by an SUV in Greene County Saturday afternoon, according to state police.

The Greene County coroner identified the boy as Wilson E. Churilla, of Greensboro.

The cause and manner of death were pending.

According to state police, the incident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the area of South Eighty Eight and Colvin roads in Monongahela Township.

State police said Churilla was walking across South Eighty Eight Road when he was hit by the SUV, driven by a 92-year-old man from Rices Landing.

Police did not say from which direction the vehicle came.

The driver was not hurt, state police said. He had not been charged with any offense.

An investigation is ongoing.
