More than five years after Rachael DelTondo was gunned down in the driveway of her mother’s Aliquippa home, the Beaver County District Attorney’s Office has named a new suspect in the case.

Tribune-Review news partner WTAE-TV reported that District Attorney David Lozier named Sheldon Jeter, 25, as the prime suspect in the murder. Jeter and DelTondo had an on-and-off romantic relationship, WTAE reported.

No charges have been formally announced.

The district attorney said his office will execute search warrants in the near future, according to WTAE, and a reward will be offered.

Lozier said police know that Jeter was stalking DelTondo on the night of her 2018 murder, but they can’t place him in the location where the 33-year-old woman was killed. He did not specify any new evidence in the case.

Jeter is already behind bars. He was convicted of first-degree murder in the unrelated 2020 slaying of Tyric Pugh and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
