A Beaver County man admitted to producing child pornography in 2014 and sharing it online in 2015, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said Monday.

Randolph Guy Gum, 25, a former resident of Rochester, Pa., pleaded guilty to three counts related to the sexual exploitation of a minor stemming from videos and images he produced five years ago, Brady said.

On Jan. 19 and March 3 of 2014, Gum coerced a child into participating in “sexually explicit conduct” for the purpose of making video and image files, prosecutors said.

Gum admitted via his guilty plea to producing the images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of the child and distributing them via the Internet on July 23, 2015.

Gum faces a possible maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $750,000.

Senior U.S. District Judge Mark R. Hornak scheduled a sentencing hearing for Aug. 29.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Heidi M. Grogan prosecuted the case with help from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration & Customs Enforcement and Rochester police.

Brady credited the collaborative work of local, state and national officials in bringing the case forward through a program called Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative formed in 2006 to find and charge people who sexually exploit children and help victims.
