Beaver County woman arrested for allegedly luring Illinois boy, 15, from his home to hers

A Rochester woman accused of taking a teenage boy from his home to Beaver County last month was arrested Wednesday night in McKeesport by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department, police said.

The suspect, Lilandra Redman, 20, was found at a home in the 2900 block of Versailles Street, McKeesport, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said. Redman was arrested without incident.

Redman was wanted for non-parental child abduction and luring a 15-year-old boy from Woodstock, Ill. on Aug. 3.

According to a release from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department:

Redman met the boy online and had been in contact with him online for a few years. The pair used social media and apps to converse, as well as a disposable phone that Redman got to the victim via another student.

Using an Uber in the early morning hours of Aug, 3, authorities said Redman traveled to the boy’s home. The boy left his parents a note stating that he traveled to New York City with a woman named Jessica. The victim reset his phone to its factory settings and left it behind in Illinois, and the pair flew back to Pennsylvania.

Authorities located the victim the night of Aug. 3 at Redman’s Rochester address, but she was not home.

Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies began pursuing her and learned she was in McKeesport.

Redman was charged on Aug. 19 by police in McHenry, Ill., with abduction and being a fugitive from justice, the sheriff’s department said.

Redman was placed in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, where she will await extradition to Illinois.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Kevin Kraus could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.
