Never heard of Oram’s Donut Shop, you say?
If you love doughnuts, you might want to acquaint yourself with it.
The Beaver Falls bakery, which somehow often finds itself excluded from “best of” lists, landed on Food and Wine’s “The Best Doughnuts in Every State” rankings that were released Friday.
The reason: their Cinnamon Roll doughnuts.
You read that right. As Food & Wine put it, it’s “exactly what it sounds like: two delicious things at once.”
“They’re absolutely worth a drive, and from a lot farther than Pittsburgh,” Food & Wine says.
A manager at the bakery could not immediately be reached for comment Monday morning. But Oram’s website says the bakery has been in operation for more than 80 years and that its Cinnamon Rolls, “often twice the size of those produced by other stores,” are its best-selling doughnut.
“We make our donuts the old-fashioned way, concentrating on quality and taste,” the website says. “Compare our donuts to any competitor’s and you will immediately see and taste the difference.”
Federal Donuts, with several locations in Philadelphia, also made Food & Wine’s cut for best doughnuts in Pennsylvania.
