A 22-year-old man was killed late Tuesday while riding his bicycle in Cranberry.

The man, identified as Arron Jones of Cranberry, was riding northbound on Route 19 near St. Francis Way around 11:45 p.m. when a vehicle struck him, Cranberry police Chief Kevin Meyer said.

The man was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital, where he died.

It appears the bicycle was struck from behind in the left lane of traffic, Meyer said.

The driver remained at the scene after the crash. Meyer said there was “no indication of impairment” and “no evidence” that the driver was at fault.

An investigation is ongoing.
