Comedian Bill Crawford on Wednesday announced he is leaving 102.5 WDVE’s Morning Show to focus on standup comedy.

“It is weird as hell to be saying this out loud,” he said during the show. “This show has been such a huge part of my life.”

Crawford, who has been on the show for 13 years, also posted about his departure on Instagram.

“Getting to be a part of the DVE Morning Show has been the absolute best thing that ever happened in my career,” he wrote. ” I can’t thank everyone at iHeart and all the incredible listeners enough for the opportunity and the support over the years. Hope to see yinz arahnd tahn!!”

Crawford said he has been feeling a pull to get back to his standup comedy roots.

“It’s not an easy decision, because I love this show, and this city and you guys so much,” he said. “But sometimes you’ve just gotta follow your calling and listen to that voice that says, ‘It’s time.’ ”

Crawford co-hosts the show with Randy Baumann and Abby Krizner.

“One of my favorite things to hear is when a listener says they feel like they know me,” Crawford said. “And I say, ‘you do.’”

Baumann said he was saddened to see Crawford go.

“It’s been a tough week around here,” he said.

Later, Baumann posted on X: “Completely bummed about this, but realize Bill’s ambition and aspirations are in pursuing his comedy/standup career. As I’ve always said he’s one of the best in the country, and he’s gonna kill it but it’s beyond hard to see him go.”

Krizner also paid tribute to Crawford on social media.

“I’ve cherished working with Bill and never wanted that to end so soon, but you never keep someone you care about from their heart’s calling,” she wrote. “You’ll always have a piece of me as you travel into the great wide open. Love ya, Bill.”
