The husband of a missing Somerset County woman whose body was found buried underneath her home was jailed Wednesday on charges he murdered her, state police at Somerset said.

James Dwayne Kline, 48, of Paint Township, was placed in the Somerset County Jail in connection with the death of his wife, Cora Mae Kline, 46, whom he reported missing in April. James Kline is accused by police of strangling his wife, then burying her under their Dark Drive, Paint Township home.

Kline was arraigned before Boswell District Judge Susan Mankamyer on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation, abusing a corpse, making false reports to law enforcement and tampering with evidence. No bond was set in the murder case.

Cora Kline’s body was unearthed Tuesday and she was identified through photographs of her tattoos, state police said Wednesday.

Police said they found what they suspected was a burial site at her residence during a search Monday.

Aided by Mercyhurst University’s forensic anthropology team, the body was transported to ForensicDX in Windber, where it was examined Wednesday.
