BP is offering a discount on gasoline to first responders and medical personnel to help support them during the covid-19 pandemic.

The company is providing a discount of 50 cents per gallon at its BP and Amoco stations.

To get the discount, first responders, doctors, nurses and hospital workers need to verify their community status online.

There is a limit of two codes per user, BP said on its website.

Once they have a code, the instructions at the pump are to press cancel, enter the discount code, press enter and follow the on-screen prompts. Codes also can be entered inside stores.

BP said codes will remain available until a maximum of $1 million in cents-per-gallon discounts is reached.

Codes can be claimed until April 30. All codes will expire June 30.
