Breeze Airways is launching nonstop seasonal service between Pittsburgh International Airport and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, the airline announced Wednesday.
Flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays from May 7 to Sept. 13. Round-trip tickets are available at an introductory rate of $39.
Breeze will use 137-seat, single-aisle Airbus planes on the route.
The airports haven’t been connected by nonstop service since 2018.
Kentucky’s largest city becomes the 64th destination from Pittsburgh International Airport and Breeze’s 14th nonstop destination from the facility.
A press release from the Allegheny County Airport Authority made note of business ties between Pittsburgh and Louisville. PNC Bank, for instance, has recently expanded operations in the Louisville area.
In addition, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Louisville have athletics and media connections as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Earlier this month, United Airlines said it would begin nonstop daily service between Pittsburgh International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. The first of those flights is scheduled for March 29.
