For one day only, customers will have the chance to get their Sheetz Made-to-Order sandwiches sliced in half with a chainsaw — yes, a real chainsaw.
The horror film-esque sandwiches are part of a collaboration with the nonalcoholic beverage brand Liquid Death called the “Sheetz x Liquid Death Chainsaw-Sliced Sandwich Experience,” the companies announced Tuesday.
The first-ever stunt of its kind, Sheetz and Liquid Death said it will only be available in one store for a day.
Customers can witness their sandwich be sawed in half by influencer Jenna Ceriani, known as Chainsaw Jenna, the companies said in the announcement. The cutting takes place from 2-5 p.m. Friday at the Sheetz store in Seven Fields.
“Everyone’s been waiting for something as innovative as chainsaw-sliced sandwiches to shake up the sandwich space, and we’re super excited to bring it to life with a partner like Sheetz, who’s known for having some of the best made-to-order sandwiches out there,” said Greg Fass, vice president of marketing at Liquid Death.
Real chainsaws will slice real sandwiches at a real @Sheetz store for one day only. And chainsaw slicing is free when you buy any #LiquidDeath with your Made-To-Order sandwich. However, Sheetz customers will only be able to have the free chainsaw experience if they purchase a 19.2-ounce Liquid Death mountain water, sparkling water or iced tea along with their sandwich.
Though the chainsaw experience is only in Seven Fields, customers who purchase an MTO sandwich at any Sheetz location Friday will receive $2 off a Liquid Death 19.2-ounce water or tea. There is a limit to one per customer, and the offer must be added in the Sheetz app under the “OFFERZ” tab.
Alongside the chainsaw experience, the companies also dropped a line of limited-edition “Sandwich Slayer” merchandise, including T-shirts, baseball caps, bucket hats, tote bags, aprons, chef towels and safety glasses. Customers can now shop the merchandise online at SheetzShop.com while supplies last.
“As a company, we are obsessed with staying ahead of the competition in the sandwich game. Naturally, chainsaws felt like the ultimate power move,” said Ryan Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing and supply chain at Sheetz. “This is completely ridiculous, totally unforgettable and the kind of high energy fun our customers will love.”
