This Jan. 12, 2017, file photo shows the sign on a Chipotle restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Since large social gatherings remain off-limits in Southwestern Pennsylvania, area residents who want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo Tuesday with Mexican cuisine will have to make do with DIY or take-out.

For the latter, Chipotle Mexican Grill is offering free Queso Blanco when added to an entree order on Tuesday. Use promo code QUESO55 at checkout when ordering at chipotle.com or with the Chipotle app.

The restaurant chain also is offering free delivery with orders of $10 or more through Sunday, during regular operating hours and in participating areas.

Jose Cuervo is offering those who order food from an independent Mexican restaurant a chance at a free meal. Participants in the company’s “Cinco Sweepstakes” must tweet a photo of their meal receipt @JoseCuervo with #CincoToGo #CuervoContest.

Eligible eateries must have no more than 10 locations and not be publicly traded.

Participants must be 21 or older and must enter a receipt dated between April 28 and May 5. Entries are limited to one per day per person.

Entries also can be emailed to CuervoContest@mdmgames.com. See cuervocontest.com for details.

Winners will be randomly selected up to a maximum daily limit of 250 potential winners or $22,225 in prizes, whichever comes first.

Mad Mex is offering its Gobblerito, a Thanksgiving dinner-inspired burrito, as well as Mad Taco Packs for up to six people and Mad Mar-GO-ritas.

Those seeking a more active way to mark Tuesday’s occasion may want to check out a Facebook group that is organizing a 2020 Cinco de Mayo Virtual 5K Run.
