A 59-year-old Clymer man was killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday in Indiana County, according to state police.

Police said the man was headed east on Route 286 in Cherryhill Township northeast of Blairsville and was over the fog line when he came up on a disabled box truck on the berm.

Swerving to avoid the truck, the man’s car crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle nearly head-on. His car then spun and struck a third vehicle also headed westbound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. His identity has not been released.

Kenneth R. Yovich, 37, of Beaver, driver of the first vehicle to be struck, was transported to Indiana Regional Medical Center by ambulance. Police said he is suspected to have suffered only minor injuries.

Three other people involved in the crash were not injured, police said.
