Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce board members, (from left), Mary Jane Winterhalter, Leah Bierer and Tony Grasso, gather for a photo at the Connellsville Savor the Avenue 2015, held along Crawford Avenue in Connellsville.

The Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce will cancel the Savor the Avenue “Celebrating the Jewel of the Yough” event originally scheduled for Aug. 6, due to ongoing public health risks associated with covid-19.

“The safety and health of our guests and restaurant staff comes first,” chamber officials wrote in a news release.

Guests who registered and paid will be issued refunds by the chamber.

In the past, the event has closed down part of Crawford Avenue and set out “Fayette County’s largest dinner table” as guests chose dining options from local restaurants.
