A Connellsville man who skipped out on identity theft and other charges filed last spring was taken into custody following a crash last week in Fayette County.

Daniel L. Hoyle, 49, of Connellsville was apprehended after allegedly fleeing on foot from a Feb. 12 crash along Route 119 in Bullskin Township.

A nearby state trooper witnessed the crash and parked behind the crashed vehicle, which is when police say Hoyle ran from the scene.

After taking him into custody, Hoyle was found to have an arrest warrant out of the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office on charges of identity theft, flight to avoid apprehension, making a false report and related traffic charges stemming from an incident last May.

He faces an April 16 arraignment before Judge Nancy D. Vernon, and is currently free on $2,500 unsecured bail.
