The owner of a Somerset County radio station took secret naked photos of a woman, set up a fake dating profile in her name, sent the photos to several men and asked one of the men to rape her, according to state police.

Police charged Roger Dale Wahl, 68, of Meyersdale, with rape solicitation, identity theft and numerous other charges.

Police said Wahl created a fake online dating profile for a 62-year-old woman he knows. He corresponded with several men through the site, pretending to be the woman. He gave the men the woman’s address and invited them to come have sex with her, police said.

He sent several nude photos to the men, which he had taken with a camera he hid in the woman’s bathroom several years earlier, police said.

One of the men from the dating site went to the victim’s home, but met Wahl instead, according to police. Wahl allegedly asked the man to rape the woman, and said other men would do the same.

The victim had no knowledge of any of this until police began their investigation, police said.

When Wahl heard he was under investigation, he deleted the nude photos and dating site messages, police said.

Wahl owns WQZS 93.3, a Meyersdale-based oldies station.

He’s in Somerset County Prison on $25,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing before District Judge Douglas Bell is scheduled for Sept. 12.

In 2017, Wahl was charged with harassment after he threatened to crucify a woman for refusing sex, the Tribune-Democrat reported. He pleaded guilty and paid a fine, according to court records.
