Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker is seeking help identifying a man’s body that was found Sunday evening in the Youghiogheny River near Dawson.

Baker said the middle-aged white man is bald and has an athletic build. He appears to have a tattoo on his right shoulder blade of a mountain range.

Anyone with information that can help authorities identify the man is asked to call 724-430-1270.

The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy, Baker said.

State police and firefighters helped with the retrieval of the body. Dawson is downriver from Connellsville and Ohiopyle and upriver from Smithton.
