Firefighters battled a blaze at an apartment complex in Canonsburg Sunday that damaged at least a dozen units, according to authorities.

The fire broke out at about 1 p.m. along Summit Avenue, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.

One resident was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, he said. The extent of the victim’s injuries was not available.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fire at the row of three-story townhouse apartments and were still working to extinguish the flames as of 3:45 p.m.
