A permanent electronics recycling facility in eastern Washington County announced its 2020 dates for accepting items, most of which will be collected at no charge.

The JVS Environmental site at 1 American Way in Ellsworth will replace the monthly electronics collection program previously staged at the Washington County Fairgrounds and Washington Mall.

The site will be open the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Accepted items include computer monitors, towers, mice, keyboards and speakers; notebook computers; printers; televisions (CRT and LED); Freon appliances; fluorescent tubes and CFL bulbs and most household appliances.

The following items will not be accepted: vacuum cleaners, carpet scrubbers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Most items are collected free of charge, with the exception of damaged or dismantled CRT televisions ($50), 4- and 8-foot fluorescent bulbs ($2 per bulb) and Freon appliances ($20 Freon removal fee), cash only.

The site is located behind the Ellsworth U.S. Post Office at 1002 Almond Road. Participants will enter the site from Almond Road, just past the Beer Here Beer Distributor.
