State police at Mercer are seeking Darrell D. Harrison, who is suspected of fatally shooting another man during a dispute in Farrell on Saturday.

A man accused of fatally shooting another man during a dispute in Mercer County on Saturday was arrested in Nebraska, police said.

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer, Darrell D. Harrison, 27, of Youngstown, Ohio, was taken into custody on Sunday during a traffic stop by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office in Seward, Nebraska.

Harrison is accused of shooting Jayson Burns, 21, of Sharon.

At about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Farrell Police Department in Mercer was dispatched to 802 Roemer Boulevard due to a disturbance, according to a state police report.

While on scene, officers were made aware that a deceased man was taken to the UPMC Farrell Hospital with a gunshot wound, the report said.

State police said it was determined that Burns was involved in a physical altercation with three other men on Roemer Boulevard. During the incident, Harrison shot the victim and fled the scene before officers arrived, the report said.

Burns was taken to the hospital by others at the scene, according to the report.

Harrison has been charged with first degree homicide, the report said.

He was arrested at about 1:56 p.m. on Sunday and is being held in the Seward County Detention Center in Nebraska pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
