East Millsboro man dies after crash in Redstone Township

A 26-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Redstone Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

William J. Vernon, of East Millsboro died after his 1991 Ford Ranger crashed into a home at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Stone Church Road shortly before 3:50 a.m.

According to a police report, Vernon was driving east on Academy Road after leaving the scene of another single-vehicle crash. Vernon traveled across Route 166 and onto Stone Church Road where collided with a wall on the left side of the roadway, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, officers said.

After the initial impact, the vehicle traveled off the left side of Stone Church Road, colliding with the residence.

The vehicle came to a stop with the passenger side of the truck facing northbound on Stone Church Road.

Vernon died at the scene.
