Not so fast. Old Man Winter isn’t through with you yet.
Despite Wednesday afternoon temperatures expected to each the 60s, weather early in the day could be another blast of winter.
A mix of snow, rain and freezing rain could make for a slippery morning commute Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that runs until noon. It covers parts of northwest, southwest and western Pennsylvania; parts of east central Ohio; and parts of northern West Virginia.
Several schools around the area, mostly in Butler County, issued two-hour delays. Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV has a list of the delays.
Up to an inch of snow and a light glaze of ice are expected, the advisory states.
Meteorologist Lee Hendricks said freezing rain is possible through the morning hours Wednesday.
“It’s not going to be widespread, but it’s going to be spotty enough that it could be a concern,” he said. “Take your time and really pay attention to the road conditions, especially overpasses and bridges.”
The real kicker, Hendricks said, is that the high temperature is expected to get into the upper 60s Wednesday afternoon.
“Welcome to spring in Western Pennsylvania,” he said.
