Giant Eagle employees in New Kensington, North Huntingdon and Wexford test positive for covid-19
Employees at five Giant Eagle stores have tested positive for coronavirus, including stores in New Kensington, North Huntingdon and Wexford, the company announced Friday.
All five of the affected grocery stores have been thoroughly sanitized and are open for business, the company said in a statement.
“Like other essential businesses, Giant Eagle has received confirmation of the first positive covid-19 tests among our team members, and it is likely in the coming weeks we’ll learn of additional confirmed cases related to team members and guests,” the company said.
The employees’ test results all came in within the last few days, according to the company.
Here is the full list of affected stores, including the date the infected employees were last in the building.

Giant Eagle has taken several steps to respond to the coronavirus, such as reducing hours, introducing curbside pickup, installing Plexiglas dividers at checkout and customer service areas, and pledging $10 million in bonus pay to its employees.
On Friday the chain announced it would be shortening hours further, closing at 9 p.m. daily instead of 10 p.m.
