Hammer-wielding burglar caught on video breaking into Beaver County home

Authorities in Beaver County are seeking the public’s help to identify a hammer-wielding burglar who smashed a glass door to enter a house and steal a jewelry box.

It happened at 4 a.m. Saturday and was captured on surveillance video.

Hopewell police said it happened on Grand Avenue and the residents of the house were home at the time, but unharmed.

The person is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. They wore white clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hopewell Police Department at 724-378-0557 or the Beaver County dispatching non-emergency line at 724-775-0880.
