Heavy rainfall totals in forecast for Western Pa. through the weekend
Some rather significant rainfall totals are in store for Western Pennsylvania this week and through the weekend.
The National Weather Service is forecasting rain overnight and then from late Thursday through Sunday, with an 80 percent to 90 percent chance Friday and Saturday.
WPXI-TV meteorologist Scott Harbaugh is saying that parts of the region, including almost all of Westmoreland County, could received 3 to 4 inches of rain. Allegheny County could see 2 to 3 inches, he said on social media.

The best chance for getting outside — despite Gov. Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home order in Allegheny County and his statewide closures of non-life-sustaining businesses — is Thursday.
The weather service is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high near 64.
