Heinz and Smoothie King launched a ketchup smoothie — and now, it’s coming to Pittsburgh.

After launching the Heinz Ketchup Smoothie, Heinz and Smoothie King say they are bringing the concoction to Pittsburgh.

“The home to HEINZ felt left out, but now, Pittsburgh is in on the fun!” the Tuesday announcement said.

Starting Wednesday, the ketchup smoothie will be available at select Smoothie King locations across the Pittsburgh area. There are two Smoothie King locations nearby:

  • 11199 Perry Highway in Pine Township
  • 1025 Washington Pike in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center in Collier Township

Each smoothie costs $5.70 — a nod to Heinz’ 57 — and they will be sold while supplies last.

Kraft Heinz announced the partnership last week, saying the smoothie would only be available in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Miami and parts of the Greater New York area and Northern New Jersey.

“While everyone knows the age-old question, ‘Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable?’ recently, thousands have started asking, ‘If tomatoes are a fruit, is ketchup a smoothie?’” the company said last week.

It includes sweet Acai sorbet, crisp apple juice, juicy strawberries and tart raspberries to create a sweet and fruity smoothie with a tangy, ketchup finish, according to Kraft Heinz.
