Kennywood Park announced Friday that fully vaccinated visitors do not have to wear masks, following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s easing of restrictions.
The park posted on Facebook on Friday that fully vaccinated patrons do not have to wear a mask, and those who have not been vaccinated must continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Spokesperson Nick Paradise said a final decision has not been made on updating the mask policy for Sandcastle and Idlewild & SoakZone yet. He said to expect an update closer to the parks’ opening day.
In Central Pennsylvania, Hersheypark also announced on Twitter that fully vaccinated patrons to visit without masks.
The park will rely on patrons to “accurately follow the guidelines based on their vaccination status,” according to the park’s press release.
Pennsylvania’s covid-19 mask mandate will update to follow the federal guidelines of the CDC. The new guideline allows fully vaccinated people to not wear a mask outdoors and in some indoor settings. It still calls for people to wear masks in crowded indoor spaces like public transportation, prisons, homeless shelters and hospitals.

On Friday, the Pirates also lifted mask mandates for fully vaccinated fans at PNC Park. The Pirates had required fans to wear face masks at all times, except when actively eating or drinking at the ballpark.
