A man was flown to the hospital by a medical helicopter after being shot early Friday morning in Uniontown.

The shooting occurred in the Fayette County city shortly after midnight in the vicinity of DiMarco’s Bistro & Cantina on Morgantown Street, according to Uniontown police Chief Jason Cox.

The victim was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., Cox said.

His identity and condition were not released.

Investigators cordoned off the area of the shooting to gather evidence and were on the scene throughout the night and morning.

Police have not released any details about what transpired or whether they have identified any suspects in the case.
