A Cincinnati area man was killed Wednesday when his can hit a parked tractor-trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Somerset-Bedford border, state police said.

Justin Drew, 34, of West Chester, Ohio, was driving a 2019 Dodge Caravan eastbound when it went off the road and hit the tractor-trailer parked on the south berm of the toll road in Allegheny Township at about 7:50 a.m., police said. Drew died of blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller said.

Joshua Strunk, 25, also of West Chester, who was a passenger in the van, was taken by ambulance to the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, police said. Information on his condition was not available.

A 26-year-old man inside the tractor was not injured, police said.

State police did not identify the truck driver.
