Morning Roundup: 1 arrested following SWAT standoff in Bedford Dwellings; cooling centers open

SWAT situation resolved in Pittsburgh
A man was taken into custody Monday night in Pittsburgh’s Bedford Dwellings neighborhood after reports of a gunshot fired during a domestic altercation.
Police were called to a home on the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive. City public safety officials said a woman escaped the home and a man had barricaded himself inside.
The SWAT team responded and the man, whom police did not identify, surrendered around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.
He was taken into custody. Police said he was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants and will face additional charges.
Cooling centers open
Because of the high heat in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, CitiParks officials in Pittsburgh announced five cooling centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following healthy active living community centers:
• Beechview, 1555 Broadway Ave.
• Greenfield, 745 Greenfield Ave.
• Homewood, 7321 Frankstown Ave.
• Sheraden, 720 Sherwood Ave.
• South Side, 12th and Bingham streets
In Westmoreland County, the following cooling centers will be open:
• Center for Active Adults, 103 Main St., West Newton
• Herminie Fire Department, 101 Sewickley Ave., Herminie
• Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 211 Gaskill Ave., Jeannette
• McKenna Senior Center, 971 Old Salem Road, Greensburg
• Westmoreland Multi-Service Center, 424 Washington St., Mt. Pleasant
• Keystone Pharmacy, 8279 Route 22, New Alexandria
• New Alexandria borough building, 207 West Main St., New Alexandria
• Latrobe Senior Center, 15 Avenue C, Latrobe
• Union Mission, 2217 East Harrison Ave., Latrobe

Ohio man killed in Washington County crash
A Warren, Ohio, man died after he was involved in a head-on crash with a pickup Monday morning in Mount Pleasant Township, Washington County.
Officials said Jonathan Molina, 34, was headed south on State Route 18 and witnesses saw him driving erratically before crossing the center line and colliding with an oncoming pickup.
Molina, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
