Venango County police chase ends after vehicle hits home

State police said they arrested a Franklin man Monday after a 10-minute chase through a residential area in Venango County.

Police said they tried to make a traffic stop in the 300 block of Allegheny Boulevard in Sugarcreek just after 10 p.m., but the driver did not pull over.

State police pursued the vehicle for about 10 minutes in a chase that led police through a residential area in Sugarcreek’s Rocky Grove area. The driver crashed into a gate owned by Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department, according to state police.

The driver then got out of the vehicle while it was still moving. The car went on to crash into a home on Crestview Drive, police said.

Police said the driver, identified as Sean Penker, 35, was arrested a short time later.

Court documents show Penker is facing more than 100 charges, including seven felonies. Charges include aggravated assault, fleeing an officer, recklessly endangering another person, driving without a license and a host of additional traffic violations. Police said he also had been wanted on a warrant and parole detainer.
