Beaver County man wins $1.3M in Pa. Lottery

The Pennsylvania Lottery on Tuesday announced that a Beaver County man won more than $1.3 million playing the Pennsylvania Lottery online.

Christopher Lehman, who has served in the Army for 25 years, won while playing the Jackpot Spectacular game on May 30, officials said.

“My wife always says I have good luck,” Lehman said in a statement. “I looked at the progressive prize amount for Jackpot Spectacular and thought, ‘That one’s about to pop soon.’ I budgeted $100 to play that day. I figured, if I lose, I lose.”

Lehman said he and his wife couldn’t believe when he’d won. They called the lottery together to confirm it was real.

He said his win came the day he signed up for a Pennsylvania Lottery online account after having moved from New Hampshire about a month ago.

He plans to use the prize money to pay off his mortgage and his wife’s car loan. The rest, he said, he’ll probably invest.

The EF-0 tornado’s wind speeds were estimated to have reached 75 miles per hour in the eastern portion of the county, officials said.

The tornado, which touched down near Waterson, occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Monday and traveled .23 miles. No one was injured.
