Gunshot victim takes himself to UPMC Shadyside

On Saturday night, a man walked into UPMC Shadyside with a gunshot wound, TribLive news partner WTAE reported.

Officials say authorities arrived at the hospital to speak with a person who had been shot in the foot around 7:45 p.m.

Before he arrived, a 20-round ShotSpotter was picked up at 7:15 p.m. on Foliage Street in Wilkinsburg. At 7:40 p.m., another shot was picked up on Ardmore Boulevard.

An image from the BP Station on the boulevard shows the windows shattered.

It is unclear if the incidents are connected, officials said.

The man was listed as stable as of Sunday.

Police investigate Homewood South shooting

On Sunday morning, a home and a vehicle were hit by bullets in Pittsburgh’s Homewood South neighborhood.

Police were called to the scene, which was within the 500 block of North Homewood Avenue, following reports of shots being fired, WTAE reported.

An investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made.

No injuries were reported.

3 apartment units lost in New Castle fire

Officials were called just after 6 a.m. Sunday morning to Waldo Street in New Castle — following reports of a fire.

Twelve people and four dogs were able to make it out safely, TribLive news partner WTAE reported. Two dogs were found dead inside, however.

Three apartment units were deemed a total loss due to fire, smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Home catches fire in Wilkinsburg

A home caught fire Sunday morning in Pittsburgh’s Wilkinsburg neighborhood.

After going through the first floor of the building along Singer Place, officials confirmed to TribLive news partner WTAE that the home was heavily damaged by smoke and water.

Multiple windows throughout the home were also damaged as a result of the blaze, but everyone was able to make it out of the home.

The cause of the fire remains unclear.

Explosions, fire break out at Fayette County auto salvage yard

A large eight-bay garage caught fire at an auto salvage yard in Dawson, Fayette County early Saturday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the Everson Volunteer Fire Company, officials were called to Marsh Auto Salvage along Banning Road.

“Several explosions” had occurred inside the building, the post said.

The cause of the fire and explosions is being investigated.
