Man hospitalized following East Allegheny shooting

A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting Sunday in Pittsburgh’s East Allegheny neighborhood.

Police were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to the intersection of Nash Street and Virgin Way for reports of shots fired.

Officers found an adult man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was alert and talking with officers and medics, public safety officials said.

Pittsburgh EMS took him to a hospital in stable condition.

Officials said the victim was not forthcoming with information for police.

An investigation is ongoing.


Pittsburgh police searching for missing teen

Pittsburgh police are searching for a missing 15-year-old girl who was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Leah Pridgen left her home on the 1200 block of Pritchard Street in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood after a fight with her mother, according to police.

They described her as 5-foot-3, 130 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a black graphic T-shirt.

She is known to frequent the McKees Rocks area.

State police say Pittsburgh man hit Rivers Casino patron with belt

A Pittsburgh man was arrested Friday after Pennsylvania State Police said he struck a fellow Rivers Casino patron with his belt during an argument on the gaming floor.

Police said the fight occurred before 9 p.m. Friday.

Christopher O’Keefe, 39, is facing charges including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, evading arrest, resisting an officer and public drunkenness.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 5, according to online court records.


Burglary suspect shot in face in Fayette

A man was shot in the face while allegedly burglarizing a Fayette home, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police were called to a home on Mae West Road in Henry Clay Township around 11:30 p.m. Friday for a reported burglary in process, state police said in a Sunday news release.

The homeowner retrieved a firearm and confronted the intruder, police said.

State police identified the suspected burglar as David Luczak, 62, of Cleveland.

Luczak refused to leave the house after the homeowner approached him, police said. The homeowner, who police have not identified, then fired multiple shots.

Luczak was shot in the face twice, police said.

Once police arrived on the scene, they secured the firearm and provided aid to Luczak till EMS arrived. He was later life-flighted to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Police are working with the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office to investigate.

Luczak will be charged with burglary, state police said.
